What are the Doshas?

There are three doshas in Ayurveda—vata, pitta, and kapha. You have a unique combination of these three doshas that stays constant throughout your life and serves as a sort of blueprint for your health. This is called your constitution. By learning your constitution, you’ll discover a deeper understanding of your natural strengths and challenges, and how your constitution affects everything in your life, from physiology and digestion to body structure and personality.

  • VATA

    (Air + Ether)

Vata dosha is comprised of air and ether elements, and embodies the energy of movement. It brings creativity, flow, and connection.

  • PITTA

    (Fire + Water)

Pitta dosha is comprised of fire and water. As the energy of heat and transformation, it brings focus, determination, and intensity.

  • KAPHA

    (Water + Earth)

Kapha dosha is comprised of water and earth. It is associated with structure and stability, as well as patience, compassion, and love.
